Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is a heart muscle disease that consists in progressive dystrophy of primarily the right ventricular myocardium with fibro-fatty replacement and ventricular dilation, and that is clinically characterized by ventricular arrhythmias and a risk of sudden cardiac death.
Biomarker and diagnostic research for arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy has been reported in the published literature.
Estimated prevalence: 1-5 in 10,000 (Uncommon).
18 clinical trials registered, 13 recruiting. Interventions under study include other interventions, drug therapy, gene therapy, and procedural interventions. Pipeline includes 2 PHASE2, 1 PHASE1, 4 NA. Research is sponsored by a mix of industry and academic institutions.
