Craniolenticulosutural dysplasia (CLSD), also known as Boyadjiev-Jabs syndrome, is characterized by the specific association of large and late-closing fontanels, hypertelorism, early-onset cataract and mild generalized skeletal dysplasia.
Features include always present findings: Delayed closure of the anterior fontanelle, Delayed eruption of teeth, Long philtrum, and Short stature and others; and common findings: Pes planus, Sideways curvature of the spine (scoliosis), Joint hypermobility, and Cryptorchidism. 41 total HPO annotations.
Organ System | Phenotype Count | Example Features |
|---|---|---|
Bones and joints | 4 | Mild bone density loss (osteopenia), Sideways curvature of the spine (scoliosis), Joint hypermobility |
SEC23A function has not been fully characterized.
Craniolenticulosutural dysplasia is associated with mutations in the SEC23A gene on chromosome 14.
Genetic testing for SEC23A is available. Testing is considered confirmatory for diagnosis.
Phenotype severity distribution: 23 always present features, 4 common features.
Estimated prevalence: <1 in 1,000,000 (VERY_RARE).
No clinical trials have been registered for craniolenticulosutural dysplasia.
2 publications have been identified in PubMed for craniolenticulosutural dysplasia. Research spans Basic Science / Preclinical (100%).
