A uveal melanoma that arises from the choroid. It is the most common primary malignant intraocular tumor. It usually affects Caucasians of northern European descent. It usually remains asymptomatic for a long period. When signs and symptoms occur, they include blurred vision, visual field loss, floaters, and ocular pain. Tumor size is the most important factor that relates to prognosis.
Biomarker and diagnostic research for malignant choroid melanoma has been reported in the published literature.
5 clinical trials registered, 1 recruiting. Interventions under study include other interventions, drug therapy, and medical devices. Pipeline includes 1 PHASE3, 1 PHASE2. Research is sponsored by a mix of industry and academic institutions.
