Meier-Gorlin syndrome

Meier-Gorlin syndrome, also known as ear-patella-short stature syndrome, is a condition that involves several physical differences. People with this condition may have smaller ears (bilateral microtia), missing kneecaps (absent patellae), and short stature. They may also experience poor weight gain. In addition, there are some characteristic facial features for people with this syndrome, such as a high forehead, a small lower jaw (micrognathism) with full lips and a small mouth, as well as accentuated smile wrinkles (nasolabial folds) that link the nostrils to the corners of the mouth. These features help in recognizing the condition and understanding its impact on growth and appearance.

Common symptoms of Meier-Gorlin syndrome include underdeveloped external ears (microtia), the absence of kneecaps, and short stature.
