An alveolar soft part sarcoma occurring in adults. The most common site of involvement is the extremity, particularly the deep soft tissues of the thigh.
Features include: Alveolar soft part sarcoma.
ASPSCR1 encodes ASPSCR1 tether for SLC2A4, UBX domain containing (553 aa). Tethering protein that sequesters GLUT4-containing vesicles in the cytoplasm in the absence of insulin. Modulates the amount of GLUT4 that is available at the cell surface. Highest expression in Testis (33.4 TPM) and Pituitary (29.9 TPM).
Alveolar soft part sarcoma is associated with mutations in the ASPSCR1 gene on chromosome 17.
ASPSCR1 is classified as a druggable target (Clinically Actionable, Transcription Factor, and Transporter categories) with score 0.0.
Genetic testing for ASPSCR1 is available. Testing is considered confirmatory for diagnosis.
Biomarker and diagnostic research for alveolar soft part sarcoma has been reported in the published literature.
16 clinical trials registered, 7 recruiting. Interventions under study include drug therapy, biologic therapy, procedural interventions, and other interventions. Pipeline includes 1 PHASE3, 6 PHASE2, 4 PHASE1. Research is sponsored by a mix of industry and academic institutions.
